Farming
From WorldofWikicraft
Good old grinding. Kill it, loot it, sell it. A few of these strategies focus on some unfarmed items that can make big profits, but for the most part item farming is slow work. If your character is especially powerful and able to kill monsters fast, or if you are grinding mobs in order to level up, this section will come in handy.
Pros: Takes little to no thinking, no risk, and consistent profits.
Cons: Boring and time consuming.
[edit] Lowbie Gold Farming
The world (of warcraft) is cruel to low level players.
Attempting to acquire mass amounts of gold at low levels might be silly, like saving up for 20g armor that you'll replace in a few days of leveling, but who am I to judge? Go for the gold, man.
On new servers, farming for gold at this level is hopeless, you’re best off selling gray and white shoulder armor over General chat immediately after finding it, since that is the one armor slot most characters don’t yet have.
On more mature servers, farming level 12 - 18 Moonkins, Harpies,Vultures, or any low level bird-type creature that drops “Light Feathers” is a reliable source of income, as they sell quickly on the Auction House.
